I know my chickens, «Conosco i miei polli»

«Conosco i miei polli», literally I know my chickens in English.

It is a saying that we use in Italian to indicate that we know someone's preferences, tastes or behavior well: it can be a person or a group of people.

Just as, figuratively, the farmer knows how to recognize all the specimens in the coop.

We use it mostly in the context of anticipating someone's behavior. In which case we say:

Vedi? Conosco i miei polli
You see? I know my chickens
